About this piece
A set of six Denby "Arabesque" side plates, one of the English pottery's most recognizable patterns: concentric rings in ochre, black, and burnt orange radiating out from a stylized flower at the centre. Designed by Gill Pemberton after a trip to Russia, the pattern originally launched as "Samarkand" before Denby renamed it to avoid overlapping with a rival pottery's design of the same name. Produced on Denby's dense stoneware through the late 1960s and '70s, with the earliest runs hand-painted rather than transfer-printed, so tone and detail vary slightly from plate to plate. A bold, genuinely collectible pattern that holds up as everyday dinnerware or displayed as a set on their own.

- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
