About this piece
Abigail Ahern designs objects that carry the visual character of things made slowly, her ceramics in particular look as though they've been formed by hand rather than produced at scale. The Marilla Vase is a small ceramic vessel, compact at 3.5", with the kind of artisanal surface quality that rewards close attention: slight irregularities in form, tonal variation in the glaze, a finish that doesn't pretend to be factory-perfect.
At that scale, the Marilla is best used in groupings, three or four together on a shelf or windowsill, perhaps mixed with other Ahern pieces from the same family, creates a collected arrangement that feels considered without being contrived. A single dried flower stem or a cut branch is all it takes to activate the form against a wall or surface.
The ceramic body is waterproof for fresh stems, and the compact dimensions make it easy to reposition in a display without disrupting the rest of the arrangement.
For decorative vignettes on a bookshelf, side table, or bathroom counter where scale and texture matter as much as visual impact.

- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
