About this piece
101 Copenhagen's furniture is rarely about comfort alone, it's about presence. The Nama Lounge Chair is the studio's take on the mid-century Nordic lounge tradition, reinterpreted through a more architectural lens: sharper angles, denser proportions, and a material pairing that rewards close attention.
Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, the Nama is built on a solid natural oak frame with joinery connections that are visible and intentional, not hidden. The seat and back are upholstered in nubuck leather, a buffed hide with a velvety, matte surface that softens the chair's structure without reducing its presence.
Nubuck develops a patina with use that pulls the leather into warmer, richer tones over time.
At 27.17"W x 27.95"D x 28.94"H, it's a generous lounge proportion, wide enough to sit sideways with a book, structured enough to hold posture in conversation. The oak legs are slender and tapered in a way that keeps the visual weight light despite solid construction.
A centrepiece chair for a reading corner, living room, or bedroom alcove where you want something that earns its place by improving with use.

- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
