About this piece
101 Copenhagen's founders describe their studio as a reaction against the lightness of contemporary Scandinavian design, and few pieces illustrate that position as directly as the Phantom. It's a solid cast aluminium table finished in a burned antique black-copper patina that suggests age and process rather than factory precision.
Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, the Phantom Coffee Table is cast in a single seamless pour, no joints, no legs, no visible structure. The form tapers from a flat circular top down to a narrower base in a continuous sweep, like something excavated rather than manufactured. The burned antique black-copper finish adds further depth, shifting between near-black and warm bronze depending on the light.
At 19.25" in diameter and 13.75" tall, it sits at a classic lounge height and holds its own as both a functional surface and a standalone sculptural object. The weight of the cast aluminium means it's stable and solid underfoot.

- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
