About this piece
A gilt wood mirror with a softly worn gold frame, carved with a simple egg-and-dart detail along the inner edge. The glass has aged into a mottled, smoke-grey patina — commonly called foxing — where the original silvering has broken down over time, giving every reflection a soft, antique quality rather than a sharp modern one. That aging is original to the piece, not a treatment applied for effect, which is part of what makes foxed mirrors genuinely sought after. A substantial, characterful piece well suited above a console or mantel, where its imperfect reflection reads as history rather than flaw.

- Production dateearly 1900's
- Dimensions32" x 40"
- ConditionGood, consistent with age.
- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
