About this piece

Gejst is the kind of Danish studio that takes a bookend as seriously as a sofa, and the Arkis is proof that the approach pays off. Designed by Kasper Friis Egelund, it's a sculptural set of black marble forms that hold your books in place while working simultaneously as standalone objects when the shelf is light.
Each Arkis bookend is cut and polished from solid black marble, with a quietly architectural shape, a tapered tower form that feels more like a small monument than a functional accessory. They come in three sizes (Large, Medium, and Small), which can be mixed to create a stepped composition on a shelf or used individually as focal points on a console or desk.
The polished black finish picks up light and casts subtle reflections, making even a sparsely stocked shelf look deliberate. Marble has natural variation in veining, so no two sets are exactly alike.
A strong pairing with the NIVO or Sceene shelving, or anywhere you want a small object that anchors a surface without cluttering it.

  • Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
  • Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.

Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
