Bellevue AJ7 Floor Lamp

&Tradition was founded in Copenhagen in 2010 with a specific mandate: to safeguard and continue the production of Danish design classics while commissioning new work from contemporary designers. The studio holds the licenses to some of the most important pieces in twentieth-century Scandinavian design, including Arne Jacobsen's Bellevue series, and produces them with the same material and proportional rigour as the originals.

The Bellevue AJ7 Floor Lamp was first designed by Jacobsen in 1929, making it one of the earliest expressions of his distinctive approach: geometry reduced to its essentials, every functional decision expressed formally. The Stone Grey and Bronzed Brass combination is a contemporary colorway that reads as simultaneously archival and current, the warm metal base against the cooler grey shade creates exactly the kind of material tension Jacobsen's work consistently generated.

At H51.18" with a 7.76" shade diameter, the AJ7 is a reading and accent lamp rather than a room-flooding source: it concentrates its light downward and to the front, making it ideal beside a reading chair or alongside a sofa. The 10.75" base diameter is stable without being heavy.
