About this piece
On the occasion of the arrival of two giant pandas, the Copenhagen Zoo asked BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group to create a home for them. The configuration seeks to create ideal mating conditions.
The layout mimics the yin-yang symbol that in Chinese philosophy represents opposite but balanced forces within a circle.
The wood Hans Bøllingen figure Panda, designed by BIG, is available in two sizes: small and large. The upper body rotates on the lower body and the arms and legs are movable.

- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
