About this piece
Cylinder Studio's approach to the bowl form is the same as its approach to its vases: hand-built construction, individually fired, with surface variation and slight imprecision that document the making process rather than conceal it. The Large Taper Bowl is the studio's widest offering, a broad, shallow ceramic form with a tapering wall profile that gives the piece an architectural quality despite its functional origin as a serving or display bowl.
The tapered profile, wide at the rim, narrowing toward the base, creates a form that holds its shape visually from across a room, making it an effective centrepiece object on a dining table, coffee table, or console. As a bowl it's large enough to hold fruit, keys, candles, or curated small objects in a way that makes an arrangement feel deliberate rather than deposited.
The ceramic surface has Cylinder Studio's matte, handmade quality: the interior and exterior carry slight variations in glaze tone and wall thickness that make the piece interesting at close range. The Large Taper Bowl works as a standalone display object as readily as it works in use.

- Maintenance Oil-finished wood should be re-oiled every 6–12 months using a food-safe wood oil. Avoid prolonged sun exposure — UV light fades natural stains and dries out the wood. Wipe spills immediately and never leave wet items on the surface.
- Cleaning Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or bleach-based products, which damage the finish and void the warranty.
Poor or improper maintenance — including failure to re-oil, use of harsh chemicals, or prolonged moisture exposure — disqualifies the item from warranty coverage and return eligibility. Please follow the above guidelines to preserve your piece.
